De’Marcus was born in Houston, TX and raised in a charismatic Louisiana French Creole family rooted in Opelousas, LA. After graduating from Houston’s historic Jack Yates High (School of Communications) in the Third Ward District, De’Marcus earned a scholarship to Syracuse University, making him a First-Generation college graduate.

Faced with countless challenges, De’Marcus remained resilient and focused. He earned a spot on the Dean’s List, served as President of Black Communications Society, recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Scholarship & Engagement, creator of a Live, Laugh Love TV & Radio, class speaker at S.U. 14’ Commencement, and made history when voted Syracuse University Homecoming King; the second African-American to earn the title When he decided to trade the orange for a big apple, his resilient nature led him to a job opportunity to work at Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T Networks) in New York City. Not one to count himself out so easily, he took the chance.

“Navigating through all of life’s melting pot of experiences can make my head spin! There’s an incredible amount of kindness, permission, and patience I give to myself when I choose to show up authentically. As an actor I choose to share the plight of our humanity, my humanity, with as much with as much empathy, curiosity, compassion, imagination and audacity as I can muster.”

De’Marcus studied Shakespeare and is a proud alumnus of the British American Drama Academy - University of Oxford (Summer 17’), and proud alumni of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting Two-Year Evening Conservatory (21’) - New York City. De’Marcus enjoys collaborating, community, engagement and honing his skills with projects that make for a more diverse, inclusive, and empathetic society.

“If I went from eating my mama’s famous oxtails one day, to studying Shakespeare at Oxford the next I believe anything’s possible. The game’s afoot.”
